As part of their training, students in the Leadership Certificate Program are required to complete a leadership practicum. In this practicum they will work individually on a field project under the mentorship of their instructor. Students will choose from several formats, such as a team building project or a project to persuade others of a cause they feel passionate about. In consultation with their instructor, they will compose a research plan, implement that plan and regularly report on their progress and learning.
Completing this practicum will give students a solid foundation for practicing the skills acquired in this certificate program in any environment.
In this practicum, students will write a project proposal, implement their project and submit written reports on their progress and results.
Students will be graded on the following written reports:
% of Final Grade
|Interim Progress Report 1||15%|
|Interim Progress Report 2||15%|
|Final Project Report||40%|
Hours per week: Students should plan to set aside 9–10 hours per week for their practicum work.
