LEAD 2150 Leadership Practicum

As part of their training, students in the Leadership Certificate Program are required to complete a leadership practicum. In this practicum they will work individually on a field project under the mentorship of their instructor. Students will choose from several formats, such as a team building project or a project to persuade others of a cause they feel passionate about. In consultation with their instructor, they will compose a research plan, implement that plan and regularly report on their progress and learning.

Completing this practicum will give students a solid foundation for practicing the skills acquired in this certificate program in any environment.

In this practicum, students will write a project proposal, implement their project and submit written reports on their progress and results.

Students will be graded on the following written reports:

Interim Progress Report 1 15%
Interim Progress Report 2 15%
Final Project Report 40%
TOTAL 100%

 

Hours per week: Students should plan to set aside 9–10 hours per week for their practicum work.

  • Leadership Studies Certificate Program
  • Ministerial Training Certificate Program (Track A)
