Lilian Alvarado
Administrative Assistant & Junior Curriculum DeveloperLilian Alvarado serves Summit University as administrative assistant to the SU Manager. Lilian also is a junior curriculum developer in training. Born and raised in Honduras, she currently lives in Chicago.
Karen Brewer
Online RegistrarKaren Brewer is Summit University’s Online Registrar. She organizes and administers SU’s academic calendar, student records, registration and graduation. Her duties also include academic advising, curriculum planning and financial reporting. In addition, she provides content development and documentation services to SU. Karen is an instructor for two SU online courses and lives in Bozeman, Montana.
Sebastian Castro
Web and Seminar CoordinatorAs Summit University’s web coordinator, Sebastian Castro’s role includes the design, development and maintenance of SU’s websites to ensure a safe and efficient user experience for all SU stakeholders. In addition, Sebastian provides technical support in a wide range of areas, including worldwide and regional seminar broadcasts and replays, online meetings, in-house staff support and SU student customer service. Sebastian lives in Medellín, Colombia.
Thomas Wilk
Technical Support Team & InstructorThomas Wilk joined Summit University as technical support team when its online academic courses were launched in 2013. He became an instructor in 2016 in the Outreach course. He has participated in all forms of outreach. He also helps the students navigate through the technical challenges of Moodle, SU’s online classroom software. Tom lives in Dearborn, Michigan.

Our Instructors
Our online courses are taught by experienced SU instructors who participate in the course design process and are trained to provide excellent student guidance and support. Many instructors hold advanced degrees and/or are ordained ministers of Church Universal and Triumphant.

At Summit University we like to say that the ascended masters are the true teachers. Their teachings are incorporated into the curriculum to provide the best possible spiritual perspective and understanding.
Anneli Boston
Teacher, Voice & Speech Coach, Lay Sister of CUTBorn and raised in Sweden, Anneli Boston studied theater in Sweden and London, England, receiving a diploma from Mountview Theater School and Desmond Jones School of Mime. She pursued a career as a professional actor, and also studied English at Sussex University.
A teacher at heart, Anneli received a diploma from the Pan American Montessori institute and worked as a Montessori teacher for over 30 years. She also created and presented music workshops on The Science and Power of Music and co-wrote, produced, and directed theatrical productions.
Anneli is a voice and speech coach and is a lay sister of Church Universal and Triumphant. She loves the outdoors, spending time with her two children and supporting her spiritual community.
Carla Groenewegen
Drs in Cultural Anthropology, Ordained MinisterBorn and raised in Holland, Rev. Carla Groenewegen holds a Dutch doctoral degree (Drs) in Cultural Anthropology from Leiden University. She explored various esoteric philosophies and founded Amethyst Press in Amsterdam before immigrating to the US.
Employed by Summit University since 1990, Carla served as its director from 1999-2020. She developed numerous courses, co-authored two textbooks, and spearheaded the development of Summit University’s School of Theology and Spiritual Studies.
Carla loves writing, hiking, kayaking, and gardening, and serves her church as an ordained minister. In 2004, she became a proud new citizen of the USA.
Deirdre Burrell
Rev., Educator, Police Officer, Holistic Healthcare ProviderRev. Deirdre J. Burrell's diverse career includes roles as an educator, trainer, police officer (including a 9-1-1 dispatcher who saved a baby's life), television and radio personality, and holistic healthcare provider. She holds advanced degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She completed her ministerial training through Summit University and currently works as Ministerial Assistant in the office of Ministry of Church Universal and Triumphant. She served on the Chicago Teaching Center’s Board of Trustees for eleven years.
Deirdre has published two books and resides in Gardiner, Montana, where she enjoys photography and painting.
Karen Brewer
SU Online Instructor & Registrar, Lay Sister of CUTKaren Brewer earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Florida. She has a diverse background including work in consumer education, research assistance at Summit University Press, and 25 years as a legal assistant.
She joined Summit University in 2016 as Registrar and became a lay sister in Church Universal and Triumphant. She now serves as an SU Online instructor. Karen enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family in Montana.
Susan Kulp
Rev., Core Faculty (School of Theology), M.A. in Psychology/CounselingRev. Susan Kulp serves as a core faculty member in the School of Theology and Spiritual Studies. She brings 23 years of experience as an administrator and instructor at Summit University, including years of one-on-one training with Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
Susan holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a M.A. in Psychology/Counseling from Central Michigan University. Her passion is to assist students to connect to their inner leader and she is an ordained minister of Church Universal and Triumphant.
Janet Nordemann
M. Ed. in Elementary Education, National Board CertifiedJanet Nordemann recently retired after forty years of teaching in the elementary classroom. She holds an M. Ed. in elementary education, an AMS Montessori Elementary certificate, and National Board certification.
She now devotes her time to writing children’s stories, presenting webinars, and working for Summit University. She has an extensive background in presenting various workshops, including the Montessori philosophy workshop in Russia.
Janet lives in Montana, is an active member of Toastmasters International, and enjoys downhill skiing and studying the teachings of the Ascended Masters.
Destyne Sweeney
B.A. in Public Communications, Senior Care SpecialistDestyne Sweeney has a BA in Public Communications and has worked professionally in public communications for more than 25 years. Inspired by Toast Masters groups, she has been involved in public speaking for much of her life.
At age 21, she founded Golden Age Care and pioneered programs that helped prove the efficacy and financial soundness of home healthcare and early hospital discharge for seniors, influencing US healthcare coverage. She has been working and serving in senior care for 45 years and lives in Emigrant, Montana.
Thomas Wilk
Technical Support Instructor, Retired Automotive EngineerThomas Wilk is a retired automotive engineer from Ford Motor Company where he worked for 30 years. He holds bachelor of science degrees in chemistry and computer science.
He joined the Summit University technical support team in 2013 and became an instructor in 2016. He is a Star Wars and Star Trek fan, and is interested in alternative forms of medicine, including health kinesiology.
Candice Vann
Registered Dietitian, Certified Lactation Counselor, B.A. Nutritional SciencesDevoted to nurturing the body, mind and spirit, Candice is passionate about educating and helping others achieve wholeness. She holds a BA in Nutritional Sciences and integrates functional medicine and holistic healing.
Candice works as the Family and Youth Team Leader at The Summit Lighthouse, focusing on parent education, spiritual resources for children, and orchestrating events. She teaches the Summit University online courses: *Foundations of a Home-Centered Spiritual Culture* and *Foundations of Family Ministry*.
Kenneth Fraizer
Senior Minister, Psychotherapist, Master TeacherKenneth Fraizer is a Senior Minister of Church Universal and Triumphant, a psychotherapist, and a master teacher. He was educated at Tennessee A&I State University, Vanderbilt University, and the Washington School of Psychiatry, among others.
He has conducted professional education and training seminars and workshops for more than 6000 classroom teachers, administrators, and parents across the United States and Canada. He has had a long career in the training of ministers in pastoral identity, pastoral care and counseling, and professional mental health ministry.
