Certificate Programs
What are Certificate Programs?
Summit University offers five distinct certificate programs detailed below: a leadership studies program, a writing training program, a general studies program and two ministerial studies programs. The ministerial studies and leadership study programs are 18-credit programs. The writing program is a nine-credit program. (A credit reflects the amount of weekly work a student can expect to spend taking a course.*)
Leadership Studies Certificate Program
This powerful leadership program trains students in essential leadership skills such as servant-leadership, team building and conflict resolution.
Equipped with a thorough grasp of how to motivate people and stand for what’s right, you will be ready to claim your heart-centered leadership role wherever life directs you—whether this means serving in a leadership capacity at your local church center, taking up a leadership torch at work, or embracing a worthy cause that tugs at your heart.
The Leadership Studies Certificate Program will take a minimum of 1.5 years of part-time study (three 16-week semesters).
Writers' Guild Certificate Program
Summit University’s Writers’ Guild Certificate Program prepares students to create inspiring, persuasive writing. The writing program trains students to write effective copy and content to strategize, attract, engage and nurture spiritual seekers.
Students will be trained in writing techniques that render belief transformation through education and radiation, which is the quality of divine feeling you put into your writing. Simply put, students will learn how to write effectively, inspirationally and convincingly about the teachings of the ascended masters.
At this time, the Writers’ Guild Certificate Program will take a minimum of two years of part-time study to complete (four 16-week semesters). As courses are developed, students will be able to accelerate their part-time studies to complete the 9 required credits in a shorter period of time.
General Studies Certificate Program
Build your own General Studies certificate from a spectrum of courses. This 18-credit program has one required 3-credit course, RELS 1080 – Understanding the Teachings of the Ascended Masters. Students select an additional 15 credits of courses according to their interests. Almost any combination of courses will do. Students can focus on a specific topic area or go broad for a well-balanced certificate.
